If given the option, T.J. Grant would like nothing more than cashing in his UFC lightweight title shot in Canada.

Grant, a native of the Great White North, defeated Gray Maynard over the weekend to secure his future title opportunity. He is unbeaten at lightweight, improving to 5-0 with the TKO victory.

“Hey, let’s do it in Canada,” Grant said. “There’s a show in Toronto (the UFC is heading to the province in September). But it’s up to the UFC, and I’m doing what they tell me.”

UFC president Dana White, on the FUEL TV post-fight show, said there are no plans in place yet as far as a date for Benson Henderson vs. Grant, but he did confirm Grant as No. 1 contender.
