Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell was asked about fighting Anderson Silva when he was in the prime of his career.

Liddell, who retired three years ago with a 21-8 record, told Fighters Only his feelings on such a fight.

I would beat him, I always said that I would. I have the advantage in weight and height, so it would be more likely that I would beat him. But Anderson is one of my favorite fighters.

Liddell’s reasons behind his victory seem to go hand-in-hand with how many feel “The Spider” would stack up against Georges St-Pierre if they ever faced off, and how the UFC middleweight champion would do vs. current 205-pound king Jon Jones.

These matches are fun to talk about in a “dream” world, but the fact that we have Silva, Jones and GSP all competing now makes me want to see them square off, just for the fun of it.

Instead, it looks like we will be getting Silva-Chris Weidman in July, GSP-Johny Hendricks later this summer or fall, and Jones-Alexander Gustafsson maybe around the same time.
