For former interim UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Saturday could begin another run to a title fight.

Nogueira will face Fabricio Werdum in the main event of UFC on FUEL TV 10 from Brazil, and the bout comes on just a few days after his 37th birthday. “Big Nog” celebrated on June 2, but is planning an even bigger party with a win over Werdum.

“Winning would be a great gift,” said Nogueira to TATAME. “Fighting in Brazil, with the warmth of the crowd and beating a great opponent would be the perfect gift.”

Nogueira (34-7-1) has posted a 2-2 record in his last four, with both of the losses coming to notable heavyweights in champion Cain Velasquez and Frank Mir. He’s also stopped Dave Herman and Brendan Schaub since 2011.

“Minotauro” also owns a previous victory over Werdum, having defeated the top contender back in 2006 via decision in Japan at a PRIDE event.
