TJ Grant was on hand for UFC 161 this past weekend as he is the scheduled opponent for UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson at UFC 164 this August.

However, recent news that Anthony Pettis will not be able to face Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title that same month has prompted some to question whether the UFC will put Pettis and Henderson together.

UFC president Dana White claimed on FUEL TV that “Showtime” would not be able to make the bout even if the UFC needed to switch Grant out, but the Milwaukee-based fighter responded with a different tune.

“I can be 100 percent ready to fight Benson Henderson in Milwaukee,” Pettis said. “With all due respect to TJ Grant, Milwaukee is my town, and the fight with Ben is the fight everyone has wanted for years.”

Pettis previously bested Henderson for the WEC title and has been chasing a UFC championship match ever since. Chan Sung Jung, “The Korean Zombie” has been placed in the Aldo match at UFC 163.
