Chael Sonnen has been the most outspoken critic of UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

At the same time, and sometimes in the same sentence, Sonnen has talked about his respect for what “The Spider” has done inside the Octagon.

This July, Silva will return to action against unbeaten prospect Chris Weidman in the main event of UFC 162. On “UFC Tonight” earlier this week, Sonnen was asked what happens to the legacy of Silva with a win.

“If Anderson Silva wins this fight, the debate ends: he is the best fighter of all time,” Sonnen said. “I can’t wait for this fight.”

Most already make the claim Silva is the greatest, putting him near the top with the legends of the past. Do you agree with Sonnen? Would a loss to Weidman knock him down a peg or two in the all-time pecking order?
