Melvin Guillard has avoided any jail time for an assault charge from 2010.

Guillard is set to face Mac Danzig at UFC on FOX 8 next month. His sentencing on the two counts of aggravated battery were suspended by a New Mexico judge late last week.

The UFC lightweight will be on probation through 2015 and must complete 40 hours of community service. Melissa Segura of Sports Illustrated first reported the decision.

Guillard (30-12-2) has gone 11-7 in his Octagon career. He left the Florida-based Blackzilians and is now training in Colorado with Trevor Wittman after being told he could not return to Jackson-Winkeljohn’s gym.
