Alexander Gustafsson was one unhappy Swede when he was removed from a planned encounter with Gegard Mousasi earlier this year.

However, the cut ended up being a blessing in disguise, as Gustafsson will now face UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones for the belt this September at UFC 165.

The two were on hand to announce ticket sales Tuesday in Toronto – site of the card.

Gustafsson (14-1) is a heavy underdog, but after the recent win by Chris Weidman over Anderson Silva, “The Mauler” knows anything can happen in MMA.

“That gives me a spark, motivation,” he said. “Everyone, we are all human beings here, and everyone can lose.”

Gustafsson has won six of his seven UFC bouts and said he “feels great” after the cut above his eye healed.

“I am so pumped for this fight,” he added. “I have nothing personal against Jones.”
