TJ Grant earned his way into the top contender spot in the UFC’s lightweight division.

However, a concussion suffered in training will keep him from facing UFC champion Benson Henderson at UFC 164 in late August.

In Grant’s place will be Anthony Pettis, who asked for a second fight with “Smooth” after being forced out of a title-match vs. Jose Aldo in early August.

The fact that Pettis-Henderson came to be quickly made many think the UFC asked Grant to pull out. The Canadian responded to those rumors on Twitter.
