Heavyweights Roy Nelson and Daniel Cormier are set for the co-main event of October’s UFC 166 card from Houston.
The event, which takes place October 19 from the Toyota Center, will also feature UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez defending his title against Junior dos Santos. The two have split their previous two meetings.
Nelson (19-8) recently resigned with the UFC after his contract expired following a loss to Stipe Miocic. “Big Country” seemed on the verge of a title shot, but the upset has him sitting at 6-4 with the promotion now.
Cormier (12-0) and Nelson have been calling each other out for a meeting. “DC” earned a win over Frank Mir in his Octagon debut earlier this year.
