Mac Danzig and Melvin Guillard will be battling each other in an interesting contest this Saturday night at UFC on FOX 8.
Both are veterans of the sport, and both are in need of a victory to keep their standing and relevance in the promotion.
For Danzig, this contest offers him a chance to get back on track after a loss to Takanori Gomi late last year. He is 21-10-1 in his career, but just 2-3 in his last five.
“I’m prepared for anything and prepared for him to be the best he can possibly be,” said Danzig, during a recent interview with UFC.com. “With Melvin, I honestly expect him to do something different. He has a different training camp and I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to throw a wrench in the mix or tries to change things up on me.”
Since a three-fight losing skid from 2008-09, Danzig has alternated wins and losses in his last six bouts. However, with the UFC continually adding fighters and divisions, a string of defeats can spell the end of the line.
