UFC president Dana White offered up his honest thoughts on the performances of many fighters at Saturday’s UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Moraga card.

The event featured Demetrious Johnson successfully defending his UFC flyweight title over John Moraga, along with a disappointing-to-many co-main event between Rory MacDonald and Jake Ellenberger.

MacDonald earned the win, but didn’t impress White, who spoke with the FUEL TV post-fight show.

“It was terrible fight. I think if you go out there and if you want to prove you’re one of the best, and your opponent tells you you’re not in the top 10 in the world, and then you don’t do anything to prove him wrong, it shows. Robbie Lawler went out and made an impression. I thought Jake Ellenberger did nothing at all. He tried to do nothing, and so Rory stood on the outside and did just enough to win, but he didn’t try to impose his will on Ellenberger or go for the finish or submit him.”

One fighter who did show White something with “Mighty Mouse,” who scored the latest submission win in UFC history when he locked in an armbar vs. Moraga.

“I haven’t heard negative stuff about DJ. If you’re saying anything negative about him, you’re an idiot. He did everything to dominate a wrestler, a guy with knockout power. He was leading in the fight going into the fifth round and could have cruised, and he takes a chance and goes for an armbar with a dangerous guy. You’ve got to respect him.”

Liz Carmouche believes she is ready for another shot at the women’s bantamweight title, but White isn’t, saying “I love Liz, but let’s slow down a little bit.”
