UFC president Dana White is a proud Bostonian.

However, bringing his MMA promotion to his former home hasn’t been easy.

White and the UFC have been forced to deal with fighter social security clearance, commission hearings and outrage from those against the company.

“I’d be a liar if I said, ‘No,'” replied White, when asked about a potential return to Boston after this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 26 card. “(Boston’s) a great place to go hang out with my friends and east, but not a great place to put on fights.”

The UFC last held a card in Boston in 2010, drawing nearly $3 million at the TD Garden – site of this weekend’s event.
