Earlier this year, Alistair Overeem was in a commanding position vs. Antonio Silva.
A few seconds later, and a drop of his hands, and Overeem was knocked out by “Bigfoot.”
The same thing happened Saturday night at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen, as Travis Browne withstood Overeem’s strikes to land a kick right to the chin.
UFC president Dana White wasn’t going to make a decision on the former Strikeforce heavyweight champions future following the card, telling members of the media, “I have no idea. I don’t know.”
Overeem entered the UFC being viewed as the top heavyweight in the world. He had won eight straight prior to his loss vs. Silva, and was unbeaten from 2007 until that same time in 12 fights.
