UFC president Dana White wants to pair Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen together, and he even picked out a date.

However, White has hit an impasse in putting names to paper.

On Thursday, White told MMAFighting.com that Silva is demanding pay-per-view points to accept the fight with Sonnen. The UFC was looking to pair the two for the co-main event at UFC 167 in November.

“(Silva) said he won’t fight (Sonnen) unless he gets PPV (points),” White said, “so I guess he’s gonna retire.”

Pretty strong comments from the UFC boss, who has always had Silva’s back and been a strong supporter of the Brazilian.

But, that light appears to be shutting off on any chance of seeing Silva-Sonnen squaring off.
