Anthony Pettis became the new UFC lightweight champion at UFC 164 Saturday night, and picked up “Submission of the Night” honors for his efforts.
Pettis forced Benson Henderson to tap in the first round to an armbar, locking up – no pun intended – an extra $50,000.
Chad Mendes was awarded the “Knockout of the Night” for his third round stoppage of Clay Guida on the main card, while prelim fighters Hyun Gyu Lim and Pascal Krauss were given “Fight of the Night” status.
Mendes, Lim and Krauss each earned an additional $50,000, as well.
The live gate was announced at $907,116 with an attendance of 9,178.
