As a result of the stunning, seven second KO he suffered versus Ryan Jimmo last June, some fans may have been tempted to dismiss the three fight win streak Anthony Perosh had recorded prior. Now, thanks to an eyebrow raising, 14 second knockout of Vinny Magalhaes at UFC 163, however, the 41 year-old Perosh is back on track and is apparently ready for even bigger fights.

While speaking about his next bout to MMA, Perosh relayed that he’s hoping to fight at the promotion’s UFC FN 33 card on December 7th, which will go down in his native Australia. And as far as an opponent? The third degree, BJJ Black Belt stated the following:

“I won’t call anyone out today, but I just want to fight someone ranked higher than me,” Perosh said. “I’m not in the top 10 either, but I’d love a top 10 fight. If I get one, great; if not, I hope for someone coming off a couple of wins and gives me the chance to move up the ranks.”

Perosh was also reportedly asked about whether he might be interested in fighting Ryan Bader, who is coming off a recent loss to Glover Teixeira at UFC FN 28. “The Hippo” responded: “We”ll have to see, there could be a match there.”

So, considering Perosh is 4-1 in his last 5 fights, and has scored stoppage or submissions in all four of his victories, chances are he’s going to face an upper tier opponent next. While a top ten ranked opponent might not be offered just yet, if Perosh can score another impressive win next, that could change. Then again, anything can happen, particularly since the UFC is headed to Perosh’s backyard in the coming months.
