UFC officials were busy over the weekend, making several changes to fights and announcing new ones.
First, at UFC Fight Night 29, Jeremy Stephens will not be facing Rony Jason.
Jason, an alum of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, was not cleared by the Brazilian commission. After news of Jason’s exit was made known, Stephens also pulled out due to injury. Rousimar Palhares and Mike Pierce have been promoted in place of the scheduled fight to the main card.
Next, Tom Watson has been forced out of a planned meeting with Alessio Sakara at UFC Fight Night 30 due to a training injury. Replacing Watson will be Magnus Cedenblad.
Watson, via Twitter, confirmed the injury, saying he hopes to “fight again in 2013.”
And finally, UFC Fight Night 32 will receive a bout between Godofredo Pepey and Sam Sicilia. These two were originally scheduled to fight earlier this month.
