UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was a guest on “UFC Tonight” earlier this week and discussed a number of subjects.

Jones will be facing Alexander Gustafsson Saturday night at UFC 165, and he can surpass Tito Ortiz for the most successful title defenses in the division with a victory.

Many have discussed the reach comparison between the two, but Jones doesn’t seem overly concerned with that.

“I think Alexander uses his reach really well, but he doesn’t use his as well as I use mine. If you watch his fights, he gets hit in the face a lot. He does a lot of things that I do, but I think I do them better.”

In regards to his future – both at 205 and in another division – Jones had plenty to say.

Glover Teixeira was viewed as the next challenger, but UFC president Dana White tossed Daniel Cormier’s name into the mix, as well.

“I think that’d be a phenomenal fight. I think Glover will win that fight. Cormier is a pretty decent wrestler, but he’s not ready for high level fighting in the light heavyweight division.”

As for that seemingly inevitable move to heavyweight, Jones agreed with the outside speculators.

“I think it’s in my near future. I’m excited about moving up and challenging some of these guys. If Cain can do what he’s done at that weight, I believe I can do it as well. I do things that heavyweights aren’t used to seeing.”
