Alexander Gustafsson’s next fight will likely come in his native country.

It won’t feature “The Mauler” going for the UFC light heavyweight title again.

UFC president Dana White confirmed with ESPN that Jon Jones will defend his UFC title vs. Glover Teixeira on February 1, and that Gustafsson will be competing “around the same time.”

White added that the fight will take place in Sweden, but “I don’t have an official date for that yet.”

Gustafsson (15-2) pushed Jones to a decision, and many viewed the fight a victory for the challenger. “Bones” took note of that in a statement released, as well.

“I’m going to fight Glover and I will answer all the critics about the Gustafsson fight,” Jones said. “I will fight Gustafsson after I fight Glover. I won the fight but I look at it as a blemish on my record because some people think I didn’t.

“I promise you, he will be next.”
