Conor McGregor competed for the majority of his 15-minute decision victory over Max Holloway recently with several ligament tears in his knee.

Now, McGregor is focused on returning in under a year – much like UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre did.

“I’m following the blueprint that Georges St-Pierre set down,” said McGregor, during a stop on UFC Tonight recently. “He had the same injury. I have the same doctor and the same rehab.”

That would easily put McGregor on target for an early 2014 match. He has defeated both Holloway and Marcus Brimage since coming over from Cage Warriors to the UFC.

McGregor continued to make it known he is ready and willing to face anyone upon returning, saying, “You can put me in with any of these guys. I try to be so humble, but I look around the Top-10 and I see rookies everywhere. So many rookies and so little time; I just can’t wait to come back.”
