Just like that, Dong Hyun Kim floored Erick Silva, earning a knockout victory at UFC Fight Night 29 Wednesday night.
The two went toe-to-toe for seven-plus minutes before each fighter went to land a crushing shot.
It was Kim’s left that connected, sending Silva to the ground.
“Stun Gun” earned his third straight, adding to decision wins over Siyar Bahadurzada and Paulo Thiago since a loss to Demian Maia via injury.
“He is a very tough fighter,” said Kim, during the post-fight press conference. I tried to tire him out. I knew it would take a lot of punches, so I tried to counter-attack.”
The win was his seventh knockout finish and pushed his overall record to 18-2-1 with one no-contest. For Silva, it was the second loss in his last three and just the second defeat by finish in his career.
