Chad Mendes has always been a title-contender through his career.

Now, with the coaching of Duane Ludwig, Mendes feels he is more of a threat to wear UFC gold in the near future.

Following an impressive finish of Clay Guida, Mendes will return to action in December at UFC on FOX 9 vs. Nik Lentz.

“Duane’s system is unbelievable,” said Mendes, during a recent conference call. “The technical aspect, the way he breaks everything down; it’s something I’ve never seen before.”

Mendes put his moniker on full-display recently vs. Guida, as “Money” was just that in becoming the first fighter to stop Guida.

“For me, (Ludwig’s work) has helped my confidence out,” he said. “It’s just awesome having a head coach figure that you can believe in, trust in.”
