Despite his five-round demolition of Junior dos Santos, UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez always knew a third encounter was on the horizon.

Velasquez and dos Santos will square off this Saturday at UFC 166 for the title. Both fighters hold a win over the other, with “Cigano” winning via knockout the first time.

“I’m excited for this match up,” said Velasquez, during a recent press conference. “There is a lot riding on this fight. He is one of the toughest guys in the division and that gets me excited to go to train.

“I am excited for this fight.”

Velasquez picked the Brazilian apart in the second meeting, but was unable to finish him. After dos Santos defeated Mark Hunt, the former NCAA wrestler knew the third battle was coming.

“It’s just the way it turned out,” he said. “We need the third one to settle the score.”
