Luke Rockhold appears to be on the right track to a return to action soon, as the former Strikeforce champion battles back from a knee injury.
Rockhold was expected to join his AKA teammates Cain Velasquez and Daniel Cormier this weekend in Houston, but the injury forced him out of a planned bout with Tim Boetsch.
“Saw my Doc this morning. Gave me clearance to start boxing,” Rockhold mentioned on Twitter earlier this week. “Went straight to the gym to start punching people! Haha feels great!”
Rockhold (10-2) suffered his first loss in 10 fights when he was finished by Vitor Belfort earlier this year in his UFC debut. No timetable has been set for his possible return to action.
