Diego Sanchez is coming off what many are considering the fight of the year with Gilbert Melendez, as the two went to war for 15 minutes.

Melendez came out with the win, but Sanchez earned his fair share of applause and handshakes thanks to his effort.

Now, the former Ultimate Fighter champion and one-time contender is seeking a bout with another member of the Cesar Gracie camp: Nate Diaz.

“I’m thinking maybe Nate Diaz for the next fight,” Sanchez wrote on Twitter recently. “Would be a epic 5 rounder.”

Diaz is currently scheduled to face Gray Maynard next month, to which Sanchez asked “Who wins Nate Diaz or Gray Maynard??? Both were out cold in their last outings.”

“The Dream” also commented on his own improving skills, saying “People can not deny my wrestling skills at 155. Out wrestling Gil is a statement almost had chokes too….I’m here to stay.

“Body kicks had him hurt going into the championship rounds I had him trust me mexican world war 2 will happen 5 rounds.”
