If Lyoto Machida has any say in it, he will face the man he replaced in his next bout.

Machida stepped in on short notice for Michael Bisping and delivered an impressive finish of Mark Munoz in the main event of UFC Fight Night 30 Saturday from England.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion was making his debut at middleweight, and believes a fight with Bisping makes perfect sense next.

“Bisping is a great fight for me next,” said Machida, on the post-fight show. “If he accepted it, that’d be great.”

After barely breaking a sweat, Machida should be able to return quickly if he wants to. Bisping is currently recovering from an eye injury, but has stated he will fight again.
