Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will not face Vitor Belfort in his next middleweight fight.

Instead, Machida will welcome Gegard Mousasi back to 185 pounds at UFC Fight Night in February. The bout was made official by the UFC recently for Brazil in 2014.

Machida (20-4) was impressive in his middleweight debut last month, stopping Mark Munoz in the first round. He was pushing for a fight with Belfort, but will get a former Strikeforce champion instead.

Mousasi (34-3-2) has bounced around between the two divisions. He won his UFC debut earlier this year in Sweden against a replacement fighter after Alexander Gustafsson was forced out of a planned match up.
