Al Iaquinta is a close training partner of UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, so he knows exactly what “The All-American” is capable of doing.

Was Iaquinta surprised when Weidman stunned Anderson Silva earlier this year to become champion?

Not at all.

Does the former Ultimate Fighter runner-up believe Weidman will do it again? Without a doubt.

“I really think after this fight with Anderson, there will be no doubt in anyone’s mind that he is the better fighter,” said Iaquinta, in an interview with FightLine.

Iaquinta is coming off a win over Piotr Hallman that improved his Octagon mark to 2-1. He said that “Weidman helped me a lot leading up to (that fight). I owe him a lot.”

The Weidman-Silva rematch is tabbed for December at UFC 168 in Las Vegas.
