UFC welterweight No. 1 contender Johny Hendricks conducted a Q&A session recently on Twitter, and one piece of information stood out.
Hendricks, who faces Georges St-Pierre for the title next Saturday night at UFC 167, revealed how much weight he cuts in the lead-up to his fights.
“I follow The Dolce Diet for every training camp,” he posted. “Mostly lean protein and whole foods. I lose 45 + lbs in 8 weeks.”
Hendricks has never had issues when it comes time to step on the scales, but he will need to be right at 170 pounds or lower for this title fight in Las Vegas. He is coming off recent wins over the likes of Josh Koscheck, Martin Kampmann and Carlos Condit.
