It took 16 years and 40 professional fights, but Dan Henderson finally got caught.

Henderson, a former PRIDE and Strikeforce champion, was knocked out by Vitor Belfort Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 32. The loss was the first of his career via knockout or TKO.

Despite a third consecutive defeat, though, “Hendo” isn’t about to hang it up anytime soon.

“I just got caught,” said Henderson, who was interviewed by FOX Sports 2 before heading to the hospital. “I’m not done. I just got caught (Saturday night). I was ready to go for this fight, I just got caught.

“That happens. After 16 years, it was bound to happen.”

The fight with Belfort was the final one on his current UFC deal. Previously, Henderson left the company for Strikeforce after his last contract expired before eventually returning to the Octagon.
