UFC Fight Night 33 Play-by-Play:

Bethe Correia vs. Julie Kedzie

Rd. 1- Kedzie looking for leg kicks early while Correira is looking for power counters. Body kick by Kedzie and a front kick to the body as well. Correira throws a pair of lead hooks that don’t land flush. Nice punch by Kedzie lands but Correira counter’s well. Kedzie with a flashy combo but the spinning backlist misses. Hard body shot by Correira and she lands two powerful hooks to the head. Hard right by Kedzie after she misses a wheel kick. Correira clinches and powers to the cage and lands some hard foot stomps as Kedzie knees hard. Kedzie punches out and we’re reset. Correira is starting to find her range now and while she slips on a kick she recovers. Correira muscles a single but never really finishes it and the round ends with punches from Kedzie. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Correira.

Rd. 2- Nice body kick by Kedzie to start the action. Headkick by Kedzie but Correira lands a right. Kick by Kedzie again is partially checked this time. Both women are picking it up here. Nice counter right by Kedzie off a caught kick. Both women are fighting tactically here. Great teep by Kedzie stuffs Correira to a knee. The Brazilian clinches to the cage and then takes an elbow on the exit. Great right by Correira and she clinches. Good knees by Kedzie help her get free. Nice spinning back kick to the body from Kedzie. Good fight. Light leg kicks by Kedzie. Correira with a double and Kedzie stuffs her. Stomps by Correira but Kedzie lands some good knees before the round ends. MMAFrenzy has it tied 19-19 headed to the third.

Rd. 3- Great right by Correira. Good counter combo by Kedzie. Good series of left hooks by Correira. Fighters walk each other down but the Brazilian lands a few solid hooks to the body. Correira is pressing now and Kedzie is countering now. Takedown off a hard kick by Kedize allows Correira to establish position. Correira works Kedzie to the fence and Kedzie tries to work up but the Brazilian briefly has her back. Kedzie reverses and lands some good punches before Correira escapes. Wheelkick from Kedzie lands but glances just a bit. Great combo by Correira and Kedzie responds with a nice combo and kick. Correira tries a takedown and gets stopped. Great sidekick to the body by Kedzie and a wild exchange closes out the round. MMAFrenzy has the round, and the fight, for Correira 10-9 (29-28).

Dylan Andrews vs. Clint Hester

Rd. 1- Hard leg kick and an awkward but powerful left hand as well. Nice overhand right and a step knee by the ATLien early. Hook by Andrews and he scores a body lock takedown to slow down his former teammate. Hester locks Andrews down in half guard but Andrews isn’t doing much to break it. Deep half guard by Hester as he looks to escape and Andrews grabs an arm-in guillotine and misses it. Hester in half guard now with a 1:20 left. Short elbows by Hester as he looks to pass but Andrews stands. Andrews tries another body lock takedown that Hester defends but then Andrews changes off to a new takedown and he has Hester in side control to end the round. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Andrews.

Rd. 2- Touch of gloves to start the round. Both men with hard leg kicks early. Andrews slips a punch and tries a single but Hester works out. Legkicks by Andrews now. Jumping teep is checked by Andrews. Andrews with a counter and Hester muscles a takedown. Hester lands elbows and body shots. Series of left hands by Hester now. Nice hard elbows by Hester as Andrews tries to lock him down. Short elbows by Hester. Andrews is in position to the back and Hester defends after looking to his corner for direction. Andrews stands but he pays for it. Andrews is caught coming in but man he has a chin. Andrews’s face is a bloody mess and his right shoulder appears to be separated to end the round. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Hester (19-19).

*-Fight is called between rounds as Andrews dislocated his right shoulder, as Hester parried an overhand right. Hester is reduced to tears by hurting his friend and former teammate and the bout is called.

Pat Barry vs. Soa Palelei

Rd. 1- Palelei is already in on a takedown but Barry stops him. Barry looking for kicks early but he is just out of range. Palelei scores a takedown after eating a hard knee. Barry digs for a kimura but Palelei works out into half guard. Palelei moves to mount and goes off with big punches and Barry is out.

Ryan Bader vs. Anthony Perosh

Rd. 1- Perosh pressuring early with punches and even a takedown. Bader is leaving his chin up but his hand placement is saving him so far. Bader gets Perosh down and tees off with big strikes before the Aussie works up. Perosh lands an uppercut to stem the tide and even another hard shot. Bader with another takedown and he lands a hard elbow and punches once he flattens him out. Bader is working in deep half guard with hard punches. Bader locks up a 2 on 1 but Perosh escapes. Perosh presses but eats a hook on the way in. Bader with a nice takedown and he goes to work in Perosh’s deep half guard. Perosh recovers guard and Bader backs out before diving in with a powerful punch. Brutal punches and elbows by Bader as the round ends. MMAFrenzy has it 10-8 Bader.

Rd. 2- Bader with another takedown and Perosh tries to escape but Bader passes to side control. Bader has side control and then half guard, as he is landing hard elbows. Perosh is trying to escape but Bader is relentless with accurate and hard strikes. This fight is a clear mismatch and it’s just sad now. MMAFrenzy has it 10-8 Bader (20-16).

Rd. 3- Perosh tries to rush in again but Bader punishes him before scoring another takedown on the Aussie. Perosh is trying to get to the cage to escape but Bader cuts him off at the cage by jumping to side control. Bader is just landing punches and controlling the grappling at a steady pace. Perosh tries to stand but Bader slams him face first and tees off with strikes trying to end the fight. Perosh is defending, but the ref could stop it without argument. Perosh’s face looks like a horror film. Brutal beating being endured by Perosh as the fight mercifully ends with the final horn. MMAFrenzy has it 10-7 Bader (30-23).

Mauricio Rua vs. James Te Huna

Rd. 1- Good combo by Shogun to start the action.Te Huna is walking him down but slips on strike and manages to survive the onslaught as he stands. Holy hell knockout off a short counter left hook from Rua and Te Huna is out cold. Shogun lands one more shot before the ref gets there and that is all.

Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva

Rd. 1- Crowd is really into this fight. Fighters are feeling each other out early and Hunt misses a jumping punch. Hunt continues pressing forward but is dropped by a counter in a hard-hitting exchange. Hunt manages to recover to the crowd’s appreciation. Hunt with a leg kick now. Teep to the body by Bigfoot followed by a right hand. Hunt with a solid combo but Silva defends well. Silva with a takedown attempt but Hunt stops and reverses him. Fighters break and pick their shots as the round ends. Silva’s knockdown takes the round, as it’s 10-9 Bigfoot.

Rd. 2- Hunt with a combo to start the action in the second but Silva is countering well. Big leg kick by Silva. Silva jumps on Hunt as the Kiwi slips but it is to no avail as Hunt fends him off. 1-2 by Hunt and he goes to the head and body as a followup. Silva misses a head kick. Nice right hand by Hunt that brings the crowd to their feet. Fighters are exchanging stiff strikes here. Body kick from Hunt lands flush. Silva seems to be waiting for an opening and Hunt is playing it smart and not rushing. Inside leg kicks and a big low leg kick forces Hunt to change stances. MMAFrenzy has the round 10-9 Hunt (19-19)

Rd. 3- Body kick by Silva early. Nice combo by Hunt. Hunt with a surprising takedown and he has Silva’s back briefly. The Brazilian works up and gets free along the cage. Silva tries another takedown but Hunt stops him again controls the clinch. Fighters break free. Uppercut by Hunt and Silva lands as well. Hunt controls the clinch and Hunt with a great clinch combo. Massive straight right from Hunt floors Silva and he is trying to cautiously finish Silva. Hunt with punches and elbows now. Hunt with the crucifix now and Silva is taking beating but still defending. Hunt is trying to not over exert himself. More punches from Hunt with 0:32 left. Silva has recovered half guard but eats some sawing right elbows from Hunt. MMAFrenzy has it 10-8 Hunt (29-27).

Rd. 4- Silva is pressuring to start the round and he lands a solid leg kick before eating some big punches from Hunt. Silva looks to be struggling but still is firing good leg kicks. Silva tries a takedown but Hunt reverses and then lands a driving double leg against the cage. Armbar attempt by Silva but Hunt defense well. Strong punches and elbows from Hunt now. Silva escapes to his feet. Both men are tired but caring at all. Big left elbow by Hunt and now Silva is landing. Both men are going off and Hunt is now rocked. Silva is rocked by Hunt now and both men fall to the canvas. Silva ends up on top and both men are swinging on the ground as Silva takes mount. Hunt tries to escape but Silva stops him and begins teeing off with 0:45 left. Hunt is still battling though despite being a bloody mess. Silva and Hunt are exhausted as the round ends. 10-8 Silva (37-37).

Rd. 5- Fighters embrace in the center of the Octagon before they start to battle. Hunt with a big combo and both of these men are fighting on pure heart. Silva lands shots now too and both are just battered and bloodied.Elbow by Hunt splits Silva open badly. Absoulte insanity as both men are struggling to stand but refusing to lose. Hunt senses Silva is in trouble and presses for the finish, this is unreal. Huge elbow to the already cut face of Silva and the ref has the doc check it. The doc OK’s the cut and they stagger back to the center to keep fighting. This fight is a bloody mess but both men are giving it their all. Silva looks close to a finish but Hunt roars back with a counter and now Silva is rocked. I don’t know how either is still standing. Hunt clinches on the cage but Silva lands a Thai knee with less than a minute left. Both men are covered in blood and just throwing all they have into this fight. Unreal as both men make it to the final bell and they embrace as the crowd gives them a standing ovation. Unbelievable battle. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Hunt (47-46).

Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva ruled a majority draw (48-47,47-47,47-47)
