Four fighters would take home $50,000 extra as UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, Urijah Faber, Edson Barboza, and Danny Castillo earned bonuses tonight in Sacramento. UFC president Dana White announced the bonuses at the UFC on FOX 9 post-fight press conference.

Johnson Floors Benavidez for “KOTN”

In the finish that very few expected, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson made Joseph Benavidez pay for leaving his hands down in the opening frame of their fight. Johnson floored the Team Alpha Male fighter with a vicious right hook that earned “Mighty Mouse” the “KO of the Night” award. The bonus is Johnson’s fourth with the promotion and his third in a row.

Faber Taps McDonald for “SOTN”

While many fans expected to be impressed by the bantamweight co-main event between Uriah Faber and Michael McDonald, few predicted it would be so one-sided. Faber never let his opponent get comfortable tonight, wounding him multiple times before locking on a nasty guillotine choke in the second round of tonight’s co-main event. The bonus is Faber’s third in the UFC and his seventh including the Zuffa-owned WEC.

Despite Controversy, Barboza and Castillo Earn “FOTN”

The bout opened big for one fighter and ended big for the other tonight in Sacramento as Danny Castillo and Edson Barboza picked up “Fight of the Night.” The fight saw Barboza recover from what seemed like a sure 10-8 round to pick up the final two rounds of his fight with Castillo. However, two Judges surprisingly did not award the 10-8 round in the first and the bout was award to the Brazilian, much to the chagrin of those in attendance. Regardless of the outcome, Barboza was awarded his fourth bonus in the UFC and Castillo earned his first.
