Luke Rockhold has all the confidence the world going into his UFC Fight Night 35 headlining bout opposite Costa Philippou. Why is he so confident? As the former Strikeforce champ told AXS TV’s “Inside MMA” hosts Kenny Rice and Bas Rutten, he doesn’t think the Long Island-native stands much of a chance against him if and when the fight hits the canvas.

Said Rockhold, “I’ve got a good ground game, and I don’t think he’ll be able to survive with me on the ground when it gets there.”

While the accomplished American Kickboxing Academy representative may be sure of himself, it’s worth noting that he didn’t so well in his last trip into the Octagon. Taking on Vitor Belfort at UFC on FOX 8 on May 18, 2013, Rockhold fell prey to a spectacular spinning back-kick and wound up unconscious.
