Charlie Brenneman had a decent run in the UFC, defeating Rick Story on short notice at UFC on Versus 4 on June 26, 2011 and winning in four out of eight Octagon appearances. But the ax fell after UFC 152, an event that saw the Pennsylvania native drop the TKO loss to Kyle Noke, and Brenneman was relegated to the minor leagues from whence he came – too good for the regional talent pool, and stuck waiting for a slot to open in the lone promotion where he belonged. Well, a slot opened for him recently thanks to Jason High‘s sudden appendicitis, and now “The Spaniard” gets to return to the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 35 on Wednesday and prove once and for all that it’s his home.
