If Gilbert Melendez needs a home to compete in, Michael Chandler wants the former Strikeforce lightweight champion to sign with Bellator MMA.

Chandler, the promotions former champion himself, is expected to meet Eddie Alvarez for a third time later this year for the title.

After that, he would like nothing more than to welcome “El Nino” to Bellator.

UFC president Dana White told “UFC Tonight” recently that he is finished negotiating with Melendez, who last fought in October. He has gone 1-1 in two Octagon appearances since coming over from Strikeforce.

Chandler, though, isn’t the only one who wants a piece of Melendez. World Series of Fighting’s Ali Abdel-Aziz made an offer to him via Twitter, as well, posting “if you’re a free agent, I would give you the biggest fight of your career (in July).”
