Fallon Fox, the transgender MMA fighter who sparked outrage when he hit mainstream media last year, will appear on tonight’s episode of HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.”

Fox, born a man, now competes in women’s MMA. She sat down with former tennis star Mary Carillo for the interview, which you can see a preview of in the video below.

Fox, 38 years old, was born Boyd Burton in 1975. She is the first openly transgender athlete in MMA and has competed five times. She rebounded from her first career loss by submitting Heather Bassett this past March in the second round.

The program will re-air several times over the next few weeks on HBO and will also be available on-demand after it originally airs.
