Welterweights Ildemar Alcantara and Santiago Ponzinibbio have agreed to meet at UFC 175. Officials confirmed the bout recently.

The event takes place July 5 from Las Vegas and the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Two titles will be on the line, as Chris Weidman defends his middleweight belt against Lyoto Machida and Ronda Rousey faces Alexis Davis for the female bantamweight championship.

Alcantara (20-6) has posted a strong 3-1 mark since debuting with the promotion in 2013. He submitted Wagner Prado in the second round that year, and followed up with a decision victory over Leandro Silva.

The 31-year-old Brazilian’s nine-fight win streak was snapped last October when Igor Araujo earned a decision victory over him. He got back on track by taking a split decision from Albert Tumenov in February.

For Alcantara, this fight will be his first one in the U.S. The only other time he did not fight in Brazil came in 2008 when he fought in Suriname.

Ponzinibbio (18-2) was a finalist on the second season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, but a broken arm kept him from competing in the finals. He was defeated by Ryan LaFlare in his official UFC debut last year.

The Team Nogueira fighter and Argentina native had his seven-fight win streak snapped by LaFlare. During that stretch, all seven wins came via either submission or knockout.
