Back in 2000, Andrei Arlovski was just a 3-1 MMA fighter who had spent his entire career to date competing in Russia.

He came to the U.S. and fought Aaron Brink at UFC 28, and the results were quick and to the point.

The future UFC heavyweight champion submitted Brink in under a minute. While his next fight would be a pair of losses, Arlovski eventually found his groove and compiled a six-fight win streak that included a victory over Tim Sylvia to become interim heavyweight champion.

Now, check out a replay of Arlovski’s first Octagon appearance. He returns to the promotion this Saturday, meeting Brendan Schaub at UFC 174.
