It was reported on Friday that top-ranked contender Urijah Faber has pulled out of his scheduled fight against Masanori Kanehara at UFC Fight Night 52.

As a replacement, his latest opponent who he beat at UFC 175, Alex Caceres will be stepping in to fight Masanori Kanehara at UFC Fight Night 52.

Alex Caceres (10-6 MMA, 5-3 UFC) has 2 knockouts, 5 submissions and 3 decision victories while he has never been knocked out, but has been submitted five times in his MMA career. He made his UFC debut against Jim Hettes on UFC Live 5 – Hardy vs. Lytle on Aug / 14 / 2011 via Rear-Naked Choke. In his last four fights he is 3-0-1. He beat Motonobu Tezuka at UFC on Fuel TV 6 – Franklin vs. Le on Nov / 10 / 2012 via split decision. He failed a drug test against Kyung Ho Kang at UFC on Fuel TV 8 – Silva vs. Stann on Mar / 03 / 2013. He then picked up two wins over Roland Delorme via split decision at UFC 165 – Jones vs. Gustafsson on Sep / 21 / 2013 and then beat Sergio Pettis via Rear-Naked Choke at UFC on Fox 10 – Henderson vs. Thomson on Jan / 25 / 2014.

Fight Night 52 goes down on September 20th in Saitama, Japan with Mark Hunt and Roy Nelson facing each other in the main event. This fight card will only be aired on UFC Fight Pass.
