Lightweights Gilbert Burns and Christos Gligos will square off this October at UFC 179, officials announced recently.

Set for October 25 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the event features a bout between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes. The main card airs on pay-per-view, with prelims set for FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass from the Maracanazinho Gymnasium.

Giagos (10-2) will be competing in the UFC for the first time. He comes over from Resurrection Fighting Alliance after a victory over Dakota Cochrane that won him the lightweight title.
