A pair of lightweights will meet in January, as Evan Dunham takes on Rodrigo Damm at UFC 182.
Set for January 3 from MGM Grand Garden Arena, the event features Jon Jones defending his light heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier. The co-main is expected to be Ronda Rousey-Cat Zingano for the female bantamweight title, but that has yet to be made official.
Dunham (14-6) sports a 7-6 record inside the Octagon, but has lost three in a row and four of his last five. At one time, he was viewed as a possible contender to the UFC championship, but Dunham’s since lost to the likes of T.J. Grant, Donald Cerrone and Edson Barboza.
Damm (12-8) is in a similar boat as Dunham, going just 3-3 over six UFC fights. He has lost two straight.
Below is the current lineup:
UFC Light Heavyweight Championship
Jon Jones (c) vs. Daniel Cormier
Welterweight: Hector Lombard vs. Josh Burkman
Lightweight: Evan Dunham vs. Rodrigo Damm
