Fabricio Werdum has had time to reflect on his handy work, and he’s impressed with it.

Werdum finished Mark Hunt recently to become the interim UFC heavyweight champion, doing so in Mexico City.

“When I landed the knee, it was great,” said Werdum, during a recent interview with MMAFighting.com. “The arena was sold out and I knew he was hurt.”

Werdum said he heard Hunt ask the referee to “stop the fight as soon as he went down,” but it was too loud.

“Everything happened so fast. The referee didn’t hear that, so I kept punching until he ended the fight.”

Up next for Werdum is a 2015 meeting with Cain Velasquez to unify the titles. Velasquez suffered a knee injury in training that forced him out and Hunt it.
