Former Bellator champion Zach Makovsky got back in the win column Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 60, besting Tim Elliott in a battle of ranked flyweights.

Makovsky (19-5) was coming off a decision loss to Jussier Formiga last August that halted his four-fight win streak that included two wins inside the Octagon.

By using his takedowns and work on the ground, “Fun Size” was able to control Elliott.

“Tim brings a hell of a pace,” he said. “I knew that going in. I was hoping to control him.

“He pushes the pace no matter what; it was a very tough fight.”

Makovsky held the Bellator bantamweight championship in 2010, winning it in a tournament final over Ed West. His first – and only – title defense was two years later, when he was submitted by Eduardo Dantas.
