Despite being an overwhelming favorite, Anthony Pettis knows anything can happen in MMA.
Tonight, Pettis puts his lightweight title on the line vs. Rafael dos Anjos in the main event of UFC 185.
As a 4-to-1 betting favorite, most expect “Showtime” to walk into Dallas as the champion and walk out with the belt. But he is giving his challenger complete respect.
“Honestly, (dos Anjos) is probably the most dangerous guy I see on the lightweight roster besides Khabib (Nurmagomedov),” said Pettis, during a recent interview with MMAjunkie.com. “He’s dangerous.”
Dos Anjos (23-7) has scored 12 Octagon victories, including wins over Benson Henderson and Donald Cerrone. He lost via decision to Nurmagomedov, who is unbeaten in his MMA career.
“Khabib beat him, so you’ve got to say that. But other than that, dos Anjos beat Cerrone,” Pettis said. “Dos Anjos beat Henderson. Us three are at the top of the division, so we’re going to battle it out and see who’s best.”
