Despite the odds being heavily in his favor, Demetrious Johnson knows Kyoji Horiguchi will give him a challenge this Saturday night at UFC 186.
Johnson, the only fighter to hold the UFC flyweight title, will put the belt on the line in the main event vs. Horiguchi. “Mighty Mouse” has previously turned back the challenges of John Dodson, John Moraga and Joseph Benavidez.
“The flyweight championship is on the line,” said Johnson, during a recent interview with Rick Lee that you can hear below. “You got a guy in Kyoji Horoguchi who’s 15-1 and 4-0 in the UFC and hasn’t lost in a very long time.
“And me, I’m taking on a hungry challenger and I’m going to do my best to make sure I keep cleaning out the flyweight division.”
Johnson (21-2-1) hasn’t lost since a 2011 decision defeat to then-bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. He’s won seven in a row and is unbeaten in his last eight.
