A pair of bouts have been changed for UFC 189, not including rumors of an issue with the main event.

Brandon Thatch steps in and faces Gunnar Nelson in place of John Hathaway, which in turn opened up a spot for Cathal Pendred to take on John Howard.

Set for July 11, the card is set to feature Jose Aldo defending his featherweight belt against Conor McGregor.

Thatch (11-2) suffered a loss to Benson Henderson in his most recent fight, taking the bout on short notice against the former lightweight champion.

Nelson (13-3-1) is also coming off a loss, as he was on the wrong end of a split decision defeat vs. Rick Story.

Howard (22-11) will try to deal Pendred (17-2-1) his first Octagon defeat in five tries.
