Josh Samman earned his third straight victory with an impressive submission victory Sunday night at The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale over Caio Magalhaes.

After knocking the Brazilian down with a flurry of shots, Samman locked on his back and locked in the rear-naked choke, leaving Magalhaes – a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt – a bloody and beaten mess.

“My striking has really come a long way,” he said. “I have been working every single day on it.

“The rear-naked choke was there.”

Samman, an alum of The Ultimate Fighter, admitted there was some heat between the two after Magalhaes told him he could “shake something else” before weigh-ins. He tried to bury the hatchet after, but Magalhaes initially ignored his handshake.

“I just put all my focus on putting on an entertaining fight,” Samman said. “(You the fans) motivate me so much.”
