Derrick Lewis loves to stand and trade in the UFC’s heavyweight division.

When Gabriel Gonzaga allowed him to do just that, the “Black Beast” showed off his power, earning a first round finish in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 86 Sunday.

For Lewis (15-4), the win was his third in a row and sixth with the UFC. All six have been finishes, with four of them coming inside of the opening five minutes.

“I feel real good,” said Nelson, who again mentioned wanting to meet Roy Nelson next. “I want to be Top-15. I’m on the hunt for that title.

“This was a perfect opportunity to fight Gabriel.”

Since 2014, Lewis sits atop the list for knockouts inside the Octagon with six – one ahead of featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

Earlier this year, Lewis stopped Damian Grabowski after concluding 2015 with a finish of Viktor Pesta. He’s also topped Ruan Potts and Guto Inocente around a pair of losses to Matt Mitrione and Shawn Jordan.

For Gonzaga (17-11), who fought Randy Couture for the heavyweight title in 2007, the loss was his third in his last four fights.
