Rose Namajunas made sure to keep her spot warm in the UFC strawweight pecking order, finishing Michelle Waterson at UFC on FOX 24 Saturday night.

“Thug” got back in the win column after a split decision loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz last year with a second round submission win. Namajunas (6-3) is now 4-1 over her last five fights.

“My whole life has been leading up to this. My last loss was difficult for me, but I got tougher,” she said. “Then I had a training camp with Valentina Shevchenko and that made me tougher, too.”

The UFC title is set to be defended later this year by Joanna Jedrzejczyk against Jessica Andrade. Asked about her chances against either fighter, Namajunas said “I match up with either really well. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out.”
