Based on his performance Saturday night, Rafael dos Anjos appears to be the clear-cut No. 1 contender in the welterweight division.

Dos Anjos scored a decision victory over Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC on FOX 26 Saturday night, likely positioning himself as the next challenger to Tyron Woodley’s belt.

The event took place from the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, with the main card airing live on FOX.

Dos Anjos, a former UFC lightweight champion, landed over 200 strikes against Lawler, a former welterweight titleholder.

Josh Emmett stepped in for Jose Aldo to face Ricardo Lamas in the co-headline bout. After missing weight and forcing the contest to proceed at a catchweight, Emmett landed, finishing Lamas.

Emmett (13-1) connected with a left-hook that caught Lamas off guard, ending the night of the former UFC title challenger. Emmett has won four of his five UFC fights around a split decision loss to Desmond Green.

Lamas (18-6) fell for the first time since a 2016 loss to current UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway via decision.

In a bout many believed would end early one way or another, it was Santiago Ponzinibbio earning a decision over Mike Perry. Both fighters went for the finish time and time again, but neither could put the other away for good.

Ponzinibbio (26-3) pushed his current win streak to six in a row, adding to victories over Gunnar Nelson, Nordine Taleb and former Ultimate Fighter winner Court McGee. Perry (11-2) lost for the second time in his last two fights.

Former UFC light heavyweight title contender Glover Teixeira began the main card with a first round finish of Misha Cirkunov.

Teixeira improved his record to 27-6 overall when he caught Cirkunov, ending the fight in 2:45 for his 10th Octagon win. Cirkunov (13-4) lost his second consecutive fight via finish.
